marriage, Charlotte and Carlos have decided to create a place where people can find that balance. In 2007, Charlotte and Carlos planned their next step in life. They decided to create a Retreat Center, Lotus Oasis Retreats. As the business plan was developed, Charlotte and Carlos begin to build a foundation for this retreat center. A primary focus point, mission, was to give individual the opportunity to reach their optimal level of wellbeing. Out of this primary mission, three ways to reach this mission came to life... escape... relax and rejuvenate. First way was to have this retreat center become an oasis from everyday life, or escape, where an individual can be him/herself... no one to judge them... just being encouraged to enjoy life. Second way was to create a place where time would stand still, or relax, where an individual didn't have to rush and be stressed by a long day of workshops, seminars and classes... a schedule without stress. The Final way to reach this mission was to give individuals the opportunity to restore their optimal vitality, or rejuvenate, by reaching mind-body and spirit balance within themselves and to empower them through conscious choice making to have a positive relationship with the things (relationship, jobs, etc...) around them. July 2009, Lotus Oasis Retreats was established to give individuals the opportunity to create an optimal level of wellbeing.
Carlos started to do the research on the "best" way to start Lotus Oasis Retreats. The research took him into the path of the hospitality industry... at the end of this research; a bed and breakfast location was the foundation for this Retreat Center to blossom. While searching the Internet, Carlos stumbled upon Lightner Creek Inn, a beautiful mountain oasis in Durango, Colorado. To his surprise, the property was for sale. In July 2009, Charlotte and Carlos became owner and innkeepers of this beautiful facility.

Charlotte is an avid outdoors-woman... her love for the outdoors guide Carlos' research. She is an avid mountain biker, cycling and hiker. She also has her own motorcycle, which she takes out on beautiful scenic road trips. Charlotte has been a massage therapist for over 15 years and ran her own business, Massage is for You, a mobile massage service company. She is also a certified Qigong instructor and a yoga teacher. She got her Deepak Chopra Yoga Teaching certification in 2008 and she teaches Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga, one of Deepak Chopra's most popular |

classes. She enjoys helping other to reach their full potential to enable them to reach their own goals in life.
Carlos is a "renaissance man"... with the ability to excel in a wide variety of subjects or fields... he can do anything he puts his mind into. He graduated for UT with a degree in EET that soon become a degree in Computer Science. Carlos ran a successful career for 4.5 years in Houston, Texas. During these years, Carlos found that even though he was making good money and lived a good life, he was not happy. In the middle of 2004, he was given an opportunity to enjoy life and live a more balance life-style... he took it and before he knew it he bumped into the "love of his life"... Charlotte... and the rest is history. |

Now, after couple of years being married, 2 dogs and 2 cat, Charlotte and Carlos are on their next adventure. They know that they share a life purpose. So, as this experience evolves, they intent that everyone around them will enjoy their time with them. They want to share this experience with other to enable other to reach their optimal level of wellbeing and to have a wonderful time in this mountain oasis.
Charlotte and Carlos' goal for Lightner Creek Inn is to give individual the opportunity to escape, relax and rejuvenate. To make this happen, they will give individual a memorable bed and breakfast experience. They will also allow Lightner Creek Inn's beautiful surrounding and tranquil atmosphere work their charm to give every guest a relaxing and peaceful time.
